Piedras Negras, Coah.- Elementos del Grupo de Armas y Tácticas Especiales (GATE) enfrentaron ayer a civiles armados en la carretera 57 y en el Laguito Mexicano, con saldo de una oficial muerta y nueve heridos, informó Sergio Sisbeles, vocero para asuntos de seguridad del Gobierno de Coahuila.En tanto, fuentes del IMSS consultadas señalaron que en el área de urgencias del Hospital de Zona 11 se atendían nueve oficiales del GATE, uno en condición muy grave, otros tres graves y cinco estables.
Horas de pánico se vivieron ayer en Piedras Negras cuando los policías y presuntos pistoleros se enfrentaron en al menos dos ocasiones con armas de grueso calibre y granadas, lo que generó bloqueos en varios puntos de la ciudad.
El primer enfrentamiento se registró en la carretera 57 a la altura de la planta Modelo, luego se extendió hasta las instalaciones de Micare alrededor de las 6 de la tarde.
Decenas de autos, autobuses y camiones quedaron varados en la carretera afectados por los bloqueos y por los cientos de ponchallantas que fueron esparcidos.
El otro enfrentamiento a balazos se dio a la altura del Laguito Mexicano sobre el bulevar República, donde varios vehículos resultaron dañados con impactos de bala.
Mientras tanto se realizaban bloqueos con todo tipo de vehículos en las oficinas de Micare, en el ejido Chamacueros, en el entronque de la carretera 57 y la 2, en Villas del Carmen y en la Plaza de las Culturas.
Un efectivo del GATE, identificado como María Guadalupe Delgadillo, de 21 años, resultó muerta en las balaceras, mientras que sus compañeros heridos fueron trasladados a la clínica 11 del IMSS.
Tanquetas del Ejército permanecían en las instalaciones del hospital para resguardar a los oficiales heridos. No se reportaron bajas del lado de los civiles armados.
A las 9:30 de la noche el jefe de la Policía de Eagle Pass, Tony Castañeda, ordenó el cierre de los puentes internacionales, con lo cual prohibieron el paso desde el lado norteamericano hacia Piedras Negras y sólo en forma esporádica se normalizó el paso desde el lado mexicano.
Fuerzas federales de apoyo, militares, policías estatales y ministeriales brindaron al final apoyo a los GATEs, quienes llegaron a la ciudad el pasado lunes.
